I got my hands on some more pics of mah wizzard, so here's a completely unedited picture of my Rincewind face! I thought perhaps you'd like to see how that looks up close.

The only makeup I used was a handful or two of soot and charcoal from the family's fireplace, generously rubbed all over my face and hands and knees and feet. I rubbed it on the clothes, too. Whatever parts were visible. I guess my thought was: Need to look dirty? Might as well get dirty!

Oh, and I guess I'll explain why my beard is blonde, too. My hair is dirty blonde, and when I decided to cosplay this character, I really wanted it to be comfortable and easy. I was really tired of wigs. So I figured I wanted to use my natural hair, and bought a beard (this one www.maskworld.com/english/prod… to match it. I love my beard. Makes me feel like a really handsome lady. The added bonus is that I can easily use the beard for other costumes, too! Like being a pirate, arr.

I haven't found any mention of Rincewind's hair color in the books, so as far as I know, this is techncally as accurate as any other approach. When I picture him in my mind, though, Rincewind does have brown hair like in the Kidby illustrations. Oh well. At least it's a really comfortable costume to wear!
